The look of an Original painting
Giclee printing on canvas may often be mistaken for oil painting originals. This due to the natural rich texture and vivid colors which enhance the sharp details of photographs, allowing us to escape into the dreams depicted in the Art work.
Why is a Giclée Print so identical to an original oil or watercolor painting? These prints are individually produced, high-resolution prints made using a sophisticated wide format inkjet printer technology. A state-of-the-art digital printer sprays millions of drops of ink per square inch onto specially treated canvas or paper, producing a large archival quality image with brilliant velvety colors, crisp contrasts and razor-sharp details. The Artist may also add with a brush to further enhance these and individualize these works.
Giclée, pronounced "Zhee-Clay" or "Gee-Clay" derived from the French for "Squirt" ink, was originally developed in 1989 as a digital alternative to lithographic reproduction. The Giclée Print Process today, has far surpassed the dpi (dots per inch) resolution of traditional lithographs and is now the world's preferred standard for fine art print reproductions.
Do Photographic images on canvas need frames? No. Photographic images are printed on large canvas, then cut to size and stretched over 1-1/4" stretcher bars. The 1-1/4 inch edge of the photographic canvases have a unique artistic appearance as the image continues to fold around the sides to the back. There is no need for frames or glass. They are beautiful plain and ready to hang up on a wall just as they are.
Giclée Prints - Photos on Canvas are Washable
Giclées printed on canvas are treated with a UV light protecting layer. They can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth or sponge and they'll keep their brilliant color for decades.
PRINTS ON METAL - ALUMINUM
This new printing surface is a new art medium. Photographic Art and images are preserved by infusing dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets. Infusing the images into the surface and not on it creates an almost magical luminescence. These prints are available in 4 different surfaces: High Gloss, Satin, and Sheer with a Glossy or Matte finish. Vibrant, luminescent-vivd effects are the result with superior detail and resolution. This method offers many additional ways to display the images.
Creative Edge Prints on Metal are available in sizes ranging from 5x5 to 40x50, with over 20 custom shapes available. A single Print is floated 3/8" off the surface of a second, larger Print, creating a contemporary "framing" effect
In addition, choose from a variety of options including Sharp Square, Rounded, or Scalloped corners and High Gloss, Satin, Sheer-Glossy and Sheer-Matte Print Surfaces. The front and back print can be styled individually, making for an extremely customizable piece with a large variety of visual effects.
